Wishing you a happy Valentine’s Day! Valentine’s Day is celebrated every February 14th in the United States, Spain, France, United Kingdom, Ireland, Greece, Australia, Singapore, and a handful of other countries. People celebrate the holiday by sending their loved ones cards and gifts of chocolates, flowers, stuffed animals and/or jewelry.
Young people in South Korea and Japan have also started to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a twist. Only the girls are the gift-givers and confess their feelings on Valentine’s Day. They also give chocolate gifts to others as a courtesy gift. Boys have to wait until March 14th, which is known as White day, in order to return the favor. However, they are expected to return the favor with a gift that is two to three times the worth of what they received.
Even if you do not celebrate Valentine’s Day, it serves as a reminder that we should show the ones that we care about how much we love them. Everyone wants to know that they are loved and just by doing the simplest things can let them know that they are. Whether it is sending them a funny video, surprising them with a gift, giving them a hug, or just simply telling them how much they mean to you, it will surely brighten up their day.
