Let’s Celebrate International Women’s Day!

Every March 8^th, the United Nations and countries from all around the world observe International Women’s Day. It serves as a reminder for all of us to recognize all the women in our lives who have helped us out and shape us into the people we are today. To all the women and girls, we hope you have a great International Women’s Day!

Every year the UN Women, the official entity of the United Nations that is dedicated to promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women, sets a different theme for International Women’s Day. This year the theme is “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world” to celebrate all the hard work women and girls around the world do to help keep the world moving forward throughout the pandemic.

The official International Women’s Day website also sets a campaign theme for the day each year. For 2021, they have selected #ChooseToChallenge as the theme. They want to inspire people to work towards creating an inclusive world. We encourage you to show your support and solidarity by raising your hand high to show that you have chosen to challenge and call out inequality in our everyday lives.
