Bajrang Punia dominated the match and bags the bronze in men’s 65kg freestyle wrestling

Bajrang Punia won the bronze medal match of the men’s 65kg freestyle category by 8-0 against Kazakhstan’s Daulet Niyazbekov. It is the 6th medal for India in Tokyo Olympics and 2nd in freestyle wrestling. He’s currently number 1the 65 kg weight category.

Bajrang Punia’s first match was agents Krgystan’s Akmataliev Ernazar and he won it comfortably and moved himself to quarterfinal to bout with Iran’s Ghiasi Cheka, with Ghiasi Cheka it seems an easy match for Bajrang Punia and clinched the match with 4-1 points and moved to the semi-finals where he had faced reigning Olympics medallist Azerbaijan’s Haji Aliyev. Haji Aliyev dominated the match and won it by 12-5. Bajrang Punia got the last chance to win the medal in Tokyo Olympics and he faced Kazakhstan’s Daulet Niyazbekov and bags the bronze for India
