Neeraj Chopra made history for India to win the first-ever Olympic gold in athletics. Chopra becomes the second Indian athlete after Abhinav Bindra won an individual gold medal in Olympics. The 23 years old boy created a history in the Javelin throw by defeating the best athletics from Germany and the Chez Republic. For the qualification in the finals at the round, A Neeraj Chopra was at the top with the throw of 86.65 followed by the German and Finland’s athletics by 85.65 and 84.50 respectively. Whereas in round B for the final qualifiers Pakistan’s Nadeem Arshad was at the top with an 85.16 throw.
In the finals with the first throw of Neeraj, Chopra made history and ensure the gold medal for India with 87.03 distance, but Neeraj Chopra seems not comfortable with this target, and in the sound round he throws it farther than the first round and it covered 87.58. 12 opponents had a huge target to reach. Chez Republic athletics won the silver and the bronze at the same event with the throw of 86.67 and 85.44, Germany got the 4th position and Pakistan has to stelled itself with the 5th position.
Neeraj Chopra was congratulated by PM Narendra Modi and many more celebrities, Nadeem Arshad and many more people for Pakistan and other countries are congratulating Neeraj for this historic win. Neeraj Chopra will receive a huge amount from the Haryana government and BCCI.
PV Sindhu is the only Indian athlete to win the two Olympic medals for India. Sindhu defeated China’s He Bing Jiao in the bronze medal match and register a historic win. The first round against He Bing Jiao seems very easy for PV Sindhu and ends up with 21-13, and the second round He Bing Jiao was trying to come back in the game but PV Sindhu was very active and didn’t give any chance to China’s player to take over the game and finished the second round with 21-15 and won the bronze medal for India.
PV Sindhu’s journey was amazing in Tokyo Olympics and won her first match against Israel Polikarpova Ksenia with 21-7 and 21-10 and played the next match against Hong Kong Cheung Ngan Yi and won the match comfortably with 21-9, 21-16. After that, she played her next match against Denmark Blichfeldt Mia and won the match in just 41 minutes with 21-15 and 21-13 and moved herself to quarterfinals against Japanese player Yamaguchi Akanea and won the first round very easily with 21-13 and the second round was tough for both the players and PV Sindhu won it with 22-20 and moved to Semi-finals against Chinese Tapie Tai Tzu-Ying first round was very hard for both the athletes but Tai Tzu-Ying snatched this round with 21-18, the second round was a comfortable won for Tai Tzu-Ying and won the second round also with 21-12 and moved to finals where PV Sindhu has to face Chinese player He Bing Jiao for the bronze match.
She is a second Indian athlete after Sushil Kumar to get the back-to-back Olympic medal for India.
