India men’s hockey team started the event with dominance and defeat New Zealand by 3-2, next match was not good for India and Australia snatched the game from India and ended up with 1-7, but with the very next match with Spain, India came up in a full mood to win and won the match by 3-0. Argentina vs India was one of the most thrilling games and India won it by 3-1. India was unstoppable and beat Japan also by 5-3 and moved on to Quarter Final and played with Great Britain and won the match by 3-1. Belgium defeats India and moved to the finals and India has a decided match with Germany which was defeated by Australia.
India men’s hockey team defeat Germany by 5-4 to get the bronze medal since 1980. They have played with all their energy and heart to bag the bronze medal for India. It was a historic win by men in blue and ended up the drought of 41 years. Simranjeet Singh, Hardik Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Rupinder Pal Singh scored the goals while PR Sreejesh was standing at the goal post like “THE WAL” and saved the game at the last moment.
Germany has dominated India in the first quarter of the match, but in the second quarter Simranjeet Singh equalize the score to 1-1, and after the second quarter was the most entertaining part of the whole match end up with 3-3. The third quarter was dominated by India and ends up with 5-3 and in the fourth quarter, Germany couldn’t hit the 2 goals to equalize the match score and India clinched the bronze.
